     This quote means that its better to be alone than to be in a bad company because being alone is keeping you away from bad people who can blame you from doing something you didn't do like for example trying something new your friends tell you to join them you had said no but once they call the police they blame it on you and you get in trouble in which you didn't cause.
But another example is not trying bad stuff others tell you to or offer you bad things but if you do say yes you can get addicted and that's how you might end up dropping out of school or either not getting a college degree because you chose to hang out with your friends and decide to chose the wrong and started doing bad habits you never wanted to do cause at the end you will have no one by your side and all they wanted to do is try new things that would affect your whole life and that becomes a habit to you so never follow others steps do what you like to do and whats best for others and not make them you are a bad person and follow what they say about you.
